maintaining ladies' underpants.
Having stained underpants is one of the most disgusting and a put off button in a woman's life. Most women probably know how to maintain this important part of our dressing, but believe you me, so many out there don't know. It is sometimes very hard to maintain pure white cotton underpants because, well, we have that critical time right? Some of us also might be having certain kinds of infection that allow excess vaginal discharge, sometimes colored. Yeast infection is one of the most common and if you are not careful, you may find your underpants stained and this is embarrassing, especially for a grown-up woman.
How then can we avoid this embarrassment? A pantyliner is a must have. For those who have no idea of what am talking about, this is something closer to a pad, but it is thinner, lighter and can be worn everyday. It is very protective, comfortable and great to avoid stains, because it is a shield. Apart from that, you need to be wearing well fitting cotton underpants. This is because, if underpants are too tight, you are susceptible to yeast infections, which will bring about unpleasant discharge that will stain your underpants. Don't even get me started on the itchy feeling. Thirdly, wash your underpants EVERYDAY. Use washing soap. Washing soap is alkaline and when we use it on our underpants, it kinda balances the pH of that important area, which is slightly acidic. Fourthly, soak underpants once a in a while in cold, salty water, with a little soda added. This is because, salt and soda are great protein stain removers. Everyday discharge, blood and other types of discharge due to infection are all considered protein and washing underpants in hot water simply cooks the protein on them and creates a stubborn stain. So, never wash underpants in hot water.
Make sure you dry underpants in a well ventilated area to avoid mildew. Remember that mildew is a living organism (mold). And having in on underpants can cause infections too. If you notice mildew, dry your underpants in the sun. Sun and heat actually kill mildew.Finally. iron underpants before wearing them. This is a sure way of wearing dry underpants and it also kills microorganisms that may have survived the washing process.
If you notice greenish, or yellowish discharge with a foul smell, it is a high time to have a checkup with you gynecologist. Remember that, keeping yourself clean on the outside without solving an underlying problem is doing yourself no good. Make sure you are healthy, clean everyday and try to wash stains as soon as you notice them.
